Who Is NeuroMind Pro For? A Quick Fit Check

Two of the exclusions on this page are about drug interactions, and neither can be sized.

Quick answer

NeuroMind Pro is for healthy adults over 18 who want a daily cognitive-support capsule.

Skip it if you are pregnant, nursing, under 18 or sensitive to caffeine, or if you take an MAOI, a thyroid drug, an anticholinergic or donepezil. Anyone on medication should ask a physician first.

See the safety cautions.

Six reasons yes, six reasons no

NeuroMind Pro may suit you if

You want a bottle that does not oversell itself

The front panel makes no claim at all. No focus promise, no clarity promise, no icons, no asterisked structure-function wording. If you have spent any time reading supplement labels you will recognise how unusual that is, and it is the single best feature of this product.

You want the B vitamins and you check the maths

Six milligrams of thiamine, 8.5 mg of pyridoxine and 24 micrograms of methylcobalamin, at 500%, 500% and 1000% of the FDA Daily Values. We recalculated all three and all three are right. They are also comfortably below the upper intake level where one exists.

You want a stimulant and do not mind not knowing the dose

Caffeine is first in a 151 mg blend, so it is the largest ingredient by weight. Somewhere between roughly 22 mg and 151 mg, with theacrine and theobromine alongside it. If a mild unmeasured lift is what you are after, that is what this capsule most reliably delivers.

You want an instruction you can follow without thinking

One capsule daily. Store below 30°C. A caution panel covering under-18s, pregnancy, nursing, medication and medical conditions. Each of those is short, specific and unambiguous, which is more than several labels on this desk have managed.

You want a seller you can reach

A phone number and an email are printed on the bottle itself, and the desk selling it publishes a second number, two New York addresses and a 60-day window. Not every product reviewed here gives you a way to reach anybody.

A vegetarian capsule matters to you

The shell is declared as hypromellose, which is plant-derived, and nothing else on the panel is obviously animal-sourced. The vegetarian mark on the listing is one of the few badges here that can be checked against the label and holds up.

Skip NeuroMind Pro if

You are buying it for the bacopa

Then the arithmetic is decisive. The six randomised trials in the review we read used 300 to 450 mg of extract a day for twelve weeks. Bacopa is fifth of seven in a 151 mg blend, so it cannot be more than 30.2 mg here — and it could be far less, because descending order sets a ceiling and no floor at all.

You take a medication with a cholinergic or monoamine mechanism

This is the serious one. Huperzine A is an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, with listed moderate interactions with anticholinergic drugs, with Alzheimer medications such as donepezil and tacrine, and with cholinergic glaucoma medicines. L-Tyrosine is contraindicated with MAOIs. Rhodiola has a reported interaction with losartan. None of the three has a printed amount, so nobody — including your pharmacist — can work out how much of any of them you would be taking.

You have a slow heart rate, heart disease, epilepsy, asthma, an ulcer or urinary obstruction

All six appear in the huperzine A monograph as conditions in which it should be avoided, and the amount in this capsule is not published. The label's own caution panel tells anyone with a medical condition to consult a physician first. Take the panel with you.

You are sensitive to caffeine, or already drink a lot of it

Caffeine is the largest single ingredient in the blend and its amount is not stated. The FDA's figure is 400 mg a day for healthy adults, and you cannot add an unknown to your own total. There is also no smaller dose available: it is one capsule, and the label says do not exceed it.

You are pregnant or nursing, or under 18

The label excludes both plainly, and the huperzine A monograph adds pregnancy and breastfeeding to its own avoid list. That is an exclusion rather than a hedge, and we would follow it.

You need to know what you are taking

This is the general case. Seven ingredients, one number, no amounts. Everything on this site that looks like a dose is a ceiling we calculated from the order the ingredients are printed in, because that is the only information the label provides. If you want a nootropic whose amounts you can set beside the research, this is not that bottle.

Five questions before you buy

Nothing you answer leaves your browser. Two of the five are about interactions, and that is deliberate.

0 of 5 answered

Are you 18 or older?
Do you already drink coffee, tea or energy drinks most days?
Do you have a slow heart rate, a heart condition, epilepsy, asthma, a peptic ulcer or an anxiety disorder?
Are you pregnant or nursing?
Do you take any prescription medicine — particularly an MAOI, a thyroid medicine, an anticholinergic, a glaucoma drop or a memory drug such as donepezil?

The three ingredients with documented interaction cautions

None of them has a printed amount, which is what turns a footnote into a problem.

Huperzine A. An acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. The monograph we read lists moderate interactions with anticholinergic drugs, with Alzheimer medications including donepezil and tacrine, and with cholinergic medicines used for glaucoma. It lists conditions to avoid it in: slow heart rate and heart disease, epilepsy, gastrointestinal blockage and peptic ulcers, asthma and emphysema, urinary obstruction, and pregnancy or breastfeeding. The ceiling here is 216 micrograms, which is inside the studied range.

L-Tyrosine. The monograph we read states that tyrosine “is contraindicated in hyperthyroidism or Graves disease because it may increase levels of thyroid hormone”, and that “coadministration of tyrosine and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) is contraindicated”. The ceiling here is 75.5 mg.

Rhodiola rosea. NCCIH notes a reported interaction with losartan, a blood pressure medicine, and describes rhodiola as possibly safe for up to twelve weeks. The ceiling here is 25.2 mg.

Take those three together and you have a capsule that a pharmacist would want to size, and cannot. A ceiling is not an amount. A pharmacist can tell you whether 200 mcg of huperzine A is a concern alongside a cholinergic glaucoma drop. Nobody can tell you whether somewhere between a trace and 216 mcg is.

What to actually do

Photograph the panel and show it to whoever manages your prescriptions before the first capsule. That is the label's own instruction, phrased as a practical step. It is free, it takes a minute, and on this formula it is the single most useful thing on this page.

The buyer this product suits least

Somebody who has read about a specific ingredient and gone looking for it.

If you read the bacopa literature and want 300 mg of a 20% bacoside extract for twelve weeks, this capsule can give you at most a tenth of that. If you read about huperzine A and want a defined 100 or 200 microgram dose, this capsule gives you an unknown quantity under 216. If you read the tyrosine research and want a dose scaled to your body weight, the arithmetic here is not close.

A proprietary blend is worst for the informed buyer, which is a strange thing for a product in this category to be. Somebody who knows nothing about nootropics loses nothing they were aware of. Somebody who has done the reading finds that the one piece of information their reading prepared them to use is the piece that is missing.

Suitability, line by line

Read off the label and the sources on our references page.

Not medical advice. The label's own caution panel is the governing instruction.
SituationWhat the label or our sources say
Healthy adult, 18+The label's intended user. Follow the one-capsule serving
Under 18Excluded by the caution panel
Pregnant or nursingExcluded by the caution panel, and huperzine A is separately listed as one to avoid in pregnancy and breastfeeding
Sensitive to caffeineCaffeine is the largest blend ingredient and is not quantified. No half dose is available
Taking an MAOICoadministration with tyrosine is described as contraindicated in the monograph we read
Hyperthyroidism or Graves diseaseTyrosine is described as contraindicated in the same source
Taking donepezil, tacrine or an anticholinergicModerate interactions listed with huperzine A
Using cholinergic glaucoma medicineModerate interaction listed with huperzine A
Taking losartanA reported interaction with rhodiola is noted by NCCIH
Slow heart rate, heart disease, epilepsy, asthma, ulcer, urinary obstructionAll listed as conditions in which to avoid huperzine A
VegetarianThe shell is hypromellose, which is plant-derived. Consistent with the mark
Avoiding gluten or dairyNothing on the ingredient list is a gluten grain or a dairy ingredient. No testing is claimed
Worried about B6 intake8.5 mg against a 100 mg/day upper limit for adults. Well under
Where this page ends and a clinician begins

Everything above is either printed on the label or quoted from a named source we opened. None of it is a judgement about your health, which we are not qualified to make and have no information to make it with. If any row in that table describes you, the useful next step is the panel in front of a pharmacist, not another article.

Questions about suitability

Is it safe?

For a healthy adult who takes one capsule a day, the individual ingredients are all in common use. Whether it is safe for you is a question the label makes harder than it needs to be, because the amounts of the three stimulants and of the acetylcholinesterase inhibitor are not published. The caution panel on the bottle tells anyone taking a medication or with a medical condition to consult a physician first, and on this formula that is the right instruction. We are not clinicians and this is not medical advice.

I take prescription medicine. Can I take this?

Ask the person who prescribed it, and take the bottle with you. Three ingredients here carry documented interaction cautions. Huperzine A has listed moderate interactions with anticholinergic drugs, with Alzheimer medications including donepezil and tacrine, and with cholinergic glaucoma medicines. L-Tyrosine is contraindicated with MAOIs. Rhodiola has a reported interaction with losartan. None of the three has a printed amount, which makes a pharmacist's job harder than it should be.

Who should avoid the huperzine A?

The monograph we read lists slow heart rate and heart disease, epilepsy, gastrointestinal blockage and peptic ulcers, asthma and emphysema, urinary obstruction, and pregnancy or breastfeeding. Reported adverse effects include nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, sweating, blurred vision, slurred speech, restlessness, loss of appetite, muscle twitching, increased saliva and urine, raised blood pressure and slowed heart rate. It is described as possibly safe for short periods of less than three months.

Are there cautions on the tyrosine?

Two in the monograph we read. It “is contraindicated in hyperthyroidism or Graves disease because it may increase levels of thyroid hormone”, and “coadministration of tyrosine and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) is contraindicated”.

I have high blood pressure or a heart rhythm problem.

Then two separate things on this label matter and neither carries a number. Caffeine is the largest ingredient in the blend, and the huperzine A monograph lists slow heart rate and heart disease among the conditions to avoid it in. Take the panel to your doctor and let them decide with the ceilings in front of them.

Will it keep me awake?

It might, and the label gives you nothing to plan around. Three methylxanthines share the blend, caffeine is the largest, and no time of day is printed in the suggested use. If you take it, morning is the only sensible reading — but that is our inference, not the label's instruction.

Can I take it while pregnant or nursing?

The label says plainly that it is not for use by pregnant or nursing mothers, and the huperzine A monograph adds pregnancy and breastfeeding to its own avoid list. That is an exclusion, not a hedge.

Can someone under 18 take it?

No. The caution panel excludes anyone under 18.

Is 8.5 mg of vitamin B6 too much?

No. The tolerable upper intake level for adults is 100 mg a day, and this is 8.5 mg. The reason B6 has an upper limit at all is the sensory neuropathy associated with chronic high doses — the NIH describes 1 to 6 grams a day for 12 to 40 months. That is hundreds of times what is in this capsule. Neither thiamin nor B12 has an upper limit set, because of the lack of reported adverse effects and low toxicity respectively.

How much caffeine is in it?

Not published, and this is the most common practical question about this product. Caffeine from green coffee bean is listed first in the blend, which by the descending-order rule makes it the largest ingredient by weight. In a 151 mg blend of seven ingredients that puts it somewhere between roughly 22 mg and 151 mg. The FDA cites 400 mg a day as the figure not generally associated with dangerous negative effects in healthy adults, and puts a 12-ounce coffee at 113 to 247 mg. You cannot add an unknown to that sum.
